Today is the day to thank all press persons, whose role has been crucial during #COVID__19 crisis as they have been reporting at a huge risk to their lives. They are working as #CoronaWarriors too bringing to light difficulties faced by people in this period of #lockdown.

Media has the power to inform and enlighten people. Media in India enjoy absolute freedom. We will expose, sooner than later, those surveys that tend to portray bad picture about “Freedom of Press” in India.#WorldPressFreedomDay

Just two days ago, the whole nation saw the blatant misuse of power by the Congress as they swooped upon Arnab Goswami because he dared to question them.
And today, they are sending out #WorldPressFreedomDay wishes & pointing fingers at the BJP!! https://t.co/Ui82UeIJR7

Free press is a pillar of democracy. Press can remain free of commercial & ideological influence only by assuming the responsibility of reporting facts, & not propagate opinions. The last century gave us many celebrated journalists. May we see many more.–Sg#WorldPressFreedomDay

It’s been more than 13 days since I am in isolation. It’s really difficult for a field reporter like me who used to go out everyday for work and bring all the latest updates for you all. Just hoping, I will be completely fine soon and hit the ground. #WorldPressFreedomDay pic.twitter.com/a1S8iBc1Qh

Nurses, doctors – and facts – are lifesavers.

Intimidation, harassment & beatings of journalists continue the world over. Journalism is not a crime.
Made this video with @Rimmel_Mohydin & @OmarWaraich last year for @amnestysasia but still relevant today.#WorldPressFreedomDay pic.twitter.com/GrKpuxrVgI

“Journalists justify their treachery in various ways according to their temperaments. The more pompous talk about freedom of speech and the public’s right to know, the least talented talk about Art,the seemliest murmur about earning a living.” #WorldPressFreedomDay #FoodForThought

The difference between a democracy and a dictatorship is the freedom of press.
Let’s ask ourselves today :
Do we have a free press ?
Are we still a democracy ? #WorldPressFreedomDay #PressFreedom— Arfa Khanum Sherwani (@khanumarfa) May 3, 2020
Today is #WorldPressFreedomDay – Under Modi, India’s Press Freedom has gone down & now placed 140th out of 160 countries in World Press Freedom Index. As if that was not bad enough, Modi’s Information & Broadcasting Minister openly threatens media who say they are under threat! https://t.co/ENkuJ3vKco

To those who have been writing against me to Swedish authorities – On 2 December 1766 Sweden became the first country in the world to have freedom of the press written into the constitution.#WorldPressFreedomDay

Now, there are more pillars than before, the building is more stable than before.
Building owners are like, we can add an entire INVESTIGATION WING room to our building. We can dig deeper, hire more reporters, do more reports!
AMAZE.

i’m not a reporter. my actual job requires me to manage tools so that storytellers could thrive. working in a small team forced me to be multi-skilled – shoot, edit, code, tweet, write – like a human swiss army knife. this job forges you in fire #WorldPressFreedomDay #CourageON pic.twitter.com/nXS6c5TIrV
